หลายคนคงได้เห็นภาพบรรยากาศหรือวิดีโอจากสื่อโซเชียลมีเดียกันมาบ้างแล้วว่าตอนนี้ทุกจังหวัดในประเทศไทย Have Lost So Much Of Her Smile ไป ซึ่งหนึ่งในนั้นก็คือจังหวัดเชียงใหม่ วันเงียบเหงาหลายวันที่ผ่านมาทำให้เราสัมผัสได้ว่า Without laughs, chit-chats, messiness, and vehicles around the place we call civilized city, there’re so much lesser life in this. ร้านอาหาร ศูนย์การค้า ร้านหนังสือหรือร้านเสื้อผ้าที่เคยเต็มไปด้วยสีสันและความตื่นเต้นที่ถูกแผ่กระจายมาจากผู้คนต่างก็ลดลงอย่างเห็นได้ชัด ทำให้ไม่ว่าจะใช้กล้องฟิล์มหรือกล้องดิจิทัลเพื่อมาจับภาพชีวิตประจำวันของเราทุกคนในตอนนี้ ภาพที่ออกมาก็น่าจะสื่อความหมายถึงวันที่ลมแรง เมฆเยอะและมืดครึ้มอยู่ตลอดทั้งวันเป็นแน่

และหยิบหนังสือ Young Adult Fiction ที่คุณไม่เคยชายตามองจริงจังสักทีอย่าง The International Bestseller เรื่อง Such A Fun Age written by Kiley Reid ขึ้นมาอ่านเพียงเพราะคำชักชวนสั้น ๆ ทิ้งท้ายไว้ว่า “จับตามดูเล่มนี้ไว้นะ” ก่อนที่จะค้นพบว่าประโยคที่ตัวเองชอบที่สุดจากนิยายเรื่องนี้ก็คือ “I just think it would be best if we went our separate ways and... that those paths never like... came back together.” ซึ่งหนังสือเรื่องนี้พูดถึงสามเรื่องหลัก ๆ ด้วยกันนั่นก็คือ ชาติพันธุ์ เงินตราและความทรงจำ

The thought of us tending to slip away in this tide and start to feel indifferent about what makes life can happen to anybody. Sometimes we don’t live but just float mindlessly around through the day like smoke. So listening to a deep meaningful song; reading something that provokes complicated emotions; and viewing other’s experience of awkward moments, races, money, and memories; help us wake the critical thinking skills in ourself up.
